CRCMining ensures the mining industry is represented during the development of the PAS 55 standard
CRCMining is actively engaged in the area of Asset Management through the Power Management group at the University of Newcastle and the Equipment Management group at the Universities of Queensland and Western Australia. There is a need to ensure that the interests of the mining industry are represented during the development of an asset management standard that is generalised and publicly available. Asset Management is undoubtedly a key differentiator within mining companies and any general standard might constrain the competitiveness of mining companies. With this in mind, CRCMining has been able to gain a “seat at the table” and is represented through David Daines (BHP Billiton Iron Ore). CRCMining is providing its members and offers the broader mining community representation in this process.
